Auf der Suche nach einem Ort der Ruhe, Raum, Inspiration und Rückzug bin ich im Jahr 2021 über das ehemalige Schulhaus (1834) im beschaulichen Gompelscheuer gestolpert. Nach mühevollster Renovierung öffnen sich nun die Türen und wir freuen uns sehr, diesen besonderen Ort mit Gleichgesinnten zu teilen. Sei es, um den Gedanken freien Lauf zu lassen, einzutauchen in die Natur oder Neues zu erschaffen.

In search of a place of peace, space, inspiration and retreat, I stumbled across the former schoolhouse (1834) in the tranquil Gompelscheuer in 2021. After painstaking renovation, the doors are now open and we are delighted to share this special place with like-minded people. Be it to let your thoughts run free, to immerse yourself in nature or to create something new.

Seit sieben Jahren arbeite ich, Hannah Schemel, als Fotografin, Künstlerin und setze mich hauptsächlich mit der Thematik Landschaft, der Frage von Reduktion und Entschleunigung auseinander. Das Schulhaus beherbergt mein Atelier. Derzeit pendle ich zwischen Mailand und Gompelscheuer. Dieses Projekt ist nur möglich mit Hilfe vieler unbeschreiblich fleißiger Hände und Köpfe. An dieser Stelle nochmals aus tiefstem Herzen – Danke.

I am Hannah Schemel, a photographer and artist who has been working in this field for approximately seven years. My primary focus is on the subject of landscape and the concepts of reduction and deceleration. The school building serves as the site of my studio. My current work involves commuting between Milan and Gompelscheuer. I would like to express my gratitude to the numerous individuals who have contributed their efforts and expertise to this project, without whom it would not have been possible.
